Welcome to Sunday School
Christian Education is offered for ages 3 through 103. The classes are held from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM on Sundays.
Sunday School begins every Sunday during the school year with an opening in the Sanctuary. During this time the children listen to a simple lesson, pray for loved ones and learn a new song. Once a month they sing the song they have recently learned for the congregation during the 10:30 AM service. After the group gathering, it's on to class to learn more about God's world and how we can be good stewards in it.
All the classes are arranged either by age (ages 3 through ninth grade) or a level appropriate for our special needs students to be compatible with the curriculum and activities used to reinforce the bible lesson for the day. Our curriculum this year is Growing in Christ from Concordia Publishing House. The same lesson is taught to most of the classes but the depth changes depending upon the grade so there is no boredom for older students or confusion for the youngsters. Our eighth and ninth graders are presented with more thought-provoking lessons often connected with the lectionary of the day and its historical significance and how to connect the lesson to Christ.
